Introduction

The National Research Institute for Science Policy (NRISP) was founded in 1980 under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (formerly the Ministry of Science and Higher Education). The appointments were based on the NRISP Constitution approved by the Ministry. Initially, NRISP consisted of six scientific groups, namely the Foresight group, the Popularization of Science group, the Science and Society group, the Science Policy group, the Economy of Science group and Scientometric group. These groups were headed by professors from the respective fields. The main mission of NRISP is acting as a Think Thank for the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and preparing policy papers in Science and Technology Policy criteria for mentioned ministry in national level.
