Science and society research department

  This department was founded in 2003 to carry out research on social studies of science and technology and to assess and to analyze science and technology policies from a social point of view.

  Research priorities

  1. To study scientific and research culture, innovation commercialization of science;

  2. To study social dimensions of the creation and the development of National Innovation System;

  3. To study the role of scientific societies, scientific relationships, specialized societies in promoting National System of Science and technology;

  4. To investigate evolutions in the science and technology patterns;

  5. To study the ways of increasing trust between science and technology elites(scientists, industrialists,…..) and the government;

  6. To study the role of science and technology centers in the National development system.

  1. Scientific communities in Iran;

  2. Women, higher education, and knowledge production;

  3. Designing the models of survey of socio- cultural environment of National System of Science;

  4. Designing of MA. & PhD. Educational course of social studies of science and technology;

  5. The new theories in the sociology of science;

  6. Sociology of science in Iran ( to assess and examine the status que of sociology of science in Iran and the favorite condition and to carry out comparative studies by selecting some countries).
