Scientometrics Department

  This department was founded in 2002 to study the quality and quantity of science and technology according to the international indicators.

  Research priorities

  _ To carry out comparative studies and to review national systems of measuring science and technology in some countries;

  _ To design, to improve and to localize methods, standards and indicators of measuring science and technology in the country;

  _ To provide annual national reports of Iran's science and technology status by analyzing data and indicators.

  Research projects

  1. A consider and define the working elements of S&T assessment system from national point of view (An approach to Iran);

  2. To prepare the report of national scientific productions at different periods of time (annual, decades…..);

  3. To reconsider the relationship of “ science, technology, and innovation” indicators with their effectiveness and propose framework for measurement of science, technology and innovation in Iran;

  4. To study the ways of promoting the scientific place of Iranian universities at international ranking;

  5. The comparative assessment of scientific production in Iran and 10 countries on the basis of ISI database in 15 years ago;

  6. The comparative study of faculty member’s promotion criteria in the selected universities in the world.
