Laurels and awards

  · The selection of Rahyaft as the best scientific journal at the 7^th research and technology festival of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2007;

  · The selection of NRISP as the best research institute in the country in 2008 (Research Week);

  · To design short- term document of national science and technology development;

  In 2006 the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution asked the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to prepare short- term document on the development of science and technology in the country. The above-mentioned ministry devolved the responsibility to NRISP. The result of NRISP’s research published in 2008 as follows:

  1. Short- term document on the development of national science and technology ( goals, policies and strategies);

  2. Short- term document on the development of national science and technology ( proposed administrative programs);

  3. Auxiliary documents to the short- term document on the development of national science and technology.

  · a project on the strategic evolution of science and technology in the framework of the state comprehensive map of science.

  In order to examine the status que of science and technology in the country, to design and to determine the favorite condition and to analyze the gap between the existent condition and the favorite condition and finally to propose strategies, policies and solutions to attain the favorite conditions mentioned in the document of 20-year vision of the system, the project of strategic evolution of science and technology in the country was carried out in 2008 with the cooperation of research deputy of the Ministry of science, Research and Technology and National Research Institute for Science Policy, decision makers and universities and research center’s elites and the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution.

  In order to attain the project’s goals, 11 scientific- research groups in different fields of education, research, technology, foresight, institutional mapping, sociology of science, determining science and technology priorities were established. The groups analyzed and reviewed the different dimensions of evolution of science and technology in the country.

  · To set up word selection group at the Persian Language and Literature Academy

  Regarding futures studies is a new area in Iran and there is a strong need to promote it in the society, word selection group for futures studies with the cooperation of the center’s futures studies research department was set up to develop its concepts. Currently, the group is working on about 100 key words in the field of futures studies.

  · To perform the research project “ the most appropriate technologies for Iran in 1404: A pilot foresight. For the first time in Iran, this project with the cooperation of about 1000 experts and with the goal of determining the future of technologies and their advantages and disadvantages in Iran. The most important results of the project are as follows:

  1. to expand the choice of opportunities in order to prioritize and to assess the results and the opportunities;

  2. to detect the landscape of the current technologies and research policies;

  3. to determine needs, requests and new facilities and also new ideas;

  4. to select some economical, technological and social grounds in order to review and focus on them;

  5. to set up technological and scientific networks in the light of inter- organizational cooperation;

  6. to attract different actors’ attention to long- term future;

  7. to establish links and coordination between different actors.
